Security Policy

At PDFcrest, your privacy and the security of your documents are not optional — they are the foundation of everything we build. Here is exactly how we protect your files.

How We Protect You

HTTPS Encryption

All data transferred between your browser and our servers is protected with TLS/HTTPS encryption. Your files are fully encrypted in transit — always.

Automatic File Deletion

For the tools that require server-side processing, your file is deleted from our servers immediately after conversion completes. We do not keep, cache, or back up your documents.

Browser-Based Processing

Most PDFcrest tools run entirely in your browser using client-side code — your file is never sent anywhere, let alone shared with other users' data.

No Third-Party Sharing

Your files are never shared with, sold to, or accessible by any third party. We do not use your documents for advertising, analytics, or AI training.

No Account Required

We collect no personal information. No name, no email, no account. Less data collected means less data at risk. This is privacy by design.

Automated Pipeline

File processing is entirely automated. No human being ever views, accesses, or handles your uploaded documents at any stage of the process.

Our Security Commitments

File Upload Security

When you upload a PDF to PDFcrest, the file travels from your device to our servers over an encrypted HTTPS connection. This prevents any interception or tampering during transit.

  • TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 encryption on all file transfers
  • Secure upload endpoints with server-side validation
  • Files accepted only in supported formats to prevent malicious uploads

How Your Files Stay Separate

Most PDFcrest tools run entirely as client-side code in your browser — your file never touches our servers, so there's no way for it to mix with anyone else's data. For the handful of tools that require server-side processing (PDF to Word, Word to PDF, OCR), your file is handled for that one request only and deleted immediately after conversion — it's never persisted or shared between users.

  • Most tools run 100% in your browser — your file never leaves your device
  • Server-side tools process one file per request, never mixed with another user's
  • Uploaded files are deleted right after conversion, not cached or persisted

Automatic File Deletion

We operate a strict zero-retention policy. For tools that require server-side processing, your uploaded file is deleted the moment conversion completes — this happens automatically, no manual action needed.

  • Server-processed files are deleted automatically right after conversion
  • No backups or copies are made of your documents
  • Deletion is permanent and unrecoverable

No Human Access to Your Files

Our file processing pipeline is fully automated. No PDFcrest team member ever views, reads, accesses, or handles your uploaded documents at any point — not during processing, and not for any internal review or quality control purposes.

  • Fully automated processing — zero human involvement
  • No internal access logs linking files to identifiable users
  • Files are not used for any training, analytics, or research

No Third-Party Data Sharing

PDFcrest does not sell, license, share, or transfer your files or any associated data to any third party — including advertisers, analytics companies, data brokers, or any other external entity.

  • No advertising networks with access to your file data
  • No third-party analytics tools that can access file contents
  • Processing infrastructure is controlled entirely by PDFcrest

Infrastructure Security

Our servers and infrastructure are maintained with security best practices including firewall protection, regular security updates, and access controls that restrict who can interact with our systems.

  • Server-level firewall and DDoS protection
  • Regular security patches and infrastructure updates
  • Restricted administrative access with strong authentication

Security Questions

Is PDFcrest safe for sensitive documents?

Yes. Most PDFcrest tools process your file entirely in your browser — it's never uploaded to our servers. The few tools that require server-side processing use HTTPS encryption and delete the file immediately after conversion. PDFcrest does not read, store, or share your content.

How long does PDFcrest store my files?

Most tools never upload your file to our servers at all — everything happens in your browser. For the few tools that require server-side processing, the file is deleted immediately after conversion completes. No documents are ever stored long-term under any circumstances.

Does PDFcrest use HTTPS encryption?

Yes. All data between your browser and our servers is protected using TLS/HTTPS encryption. Your files are fully encrypted in transit.

Can any employee access my files?

No. Processing is entirely automated. No team member ever views, accesses, or handles your uploaded documents at any stage.

Does PDFcrest share files with third parties?

Never. Your files are never shared, sold, or transferred to any third party — including advertisers, analytics companies, or any other external entity.

Is it safer without an account?

Yes — by design. Since no account or email is required, there is no personal data stored about you. This is privacy by design: less data collected means less data at risk.
